If you decide to enroll at Clark, you must complete the Steps To Enroll, including the River Canvas Course AND Clark’s New Student Orientation Module. Once all of those steps are complete, please make an appointment with your River counselor.
AVANT testing
River is offering a world language proficiency test (AVANT) on Tuesday May 21st at 8:35 a.m. in the Gallery for interested students.
If students are fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding a language other than English, they can earn up to 4.0 high school world language credits if they didn't already take that language as a high school class.
Please email your students' River counselor to sign-up ASAP.

Testing Special Schedule 4/16, 4/17, 4/23, and 4/24
Columbia River High School will be on a 2-hour special testing schedule next Tuesday and Wednesday for ELA CAT and ELA PTtesting. All Sophomores and select 11th and 12th graders will take the test. Students who are testing will arrive at school at the normal time, 8:30 a.m. with charged devices to take the test. Classes will start at 10:35am. Buses will run on the normal schedule. Students who arrive before 10:30 will have a quiet study space in the upper and lower commons until classes start.
Here are upcoming dates during the month of April that will be impacted by state testing:
ELA SBA (Estimated Time = 75 minutes
Spring Window: 3/22 - 6/7 (10th Graders, Select 11th and 12th Graders)
4/16: ELA CAT (2-hour testing schedule)
4/17: ELA PT (2-hour testing schedule)
4/18 - 6/7: Make-ups
Math SBA (Estimated Time = 60 minutes)
Spring Window: 3/14 - 6/9 (10th Graders, Select 11th and 12th Graders)

ACAPs Free Residency Week at UW - APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!
Seattle ACAP (the Accounting Career Awareness Program) is pleased to invite applicants from WA state high school students of color to its Summer 2024 Residency Week program at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business. ACAP’s mission is to help underrepresented students realize academic and career opportunities in accounting and business.
Program Dates: Sunday, July 21-Friday, July 26
Priority application deadline: Friday, April 12
This free, week-long residential program for rising WA state high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors introduces participants to accounting and the many opportunities offered in a career field actively seeking to diversify its workforce. Participants reside on campus, learn in and out of the classroom, visit accounting firms, build valuable life skills, and network with other ACAP students and diverse professionals while enjoying a taste of campus life.
This program is 100% free and includes housing in campus dorms, food, and all activities.
Applications for the July 21-26 2024 Residency Week program are being accepted now.
Priority deadline is April 12, 2024.

Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve | July 16-19, 2024
The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation will be holding the 11th annual Youth Heritage Project at the Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve on Whidbey Island near the town of Coupeville. The program is held in partnership with the National Park Service, the Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation, Washington State Parks, and Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve. Students will explore the nation’s oldest historical reserve and learn more about a unique landscape that encompasses federal, state, county, town, and private lands.
Students will explore topics related to maritime heritage and the impact of climate change on the preservation of historic and cultural resources. There will be opportunities to engage in hands-on activities to help conservation efforts, visit historic sites throughout the Reserve, learn about co-management of cultural resources, and to better understand this historic area.
Applications are currently open for student attendees and teacher/mentors. The application deadlines are May 17 for students and April 26 for teacher/mentors. Please use the following link for both applications:
FEATURED SCHOLARSHIP
Washington Association of County Officials - The fund awards up to three $3,000 scholarships to eligible children of county employees and county elected officials in the following offices: assessors, auditors, clerks, coroners, medical examiners, prosecutors, sheriffs, and treasurers. Recipients must be full-time students in a baccalaureate degree, associate degree, or vocational/technical certification program.
