Welcome Class of 2027!

My name is Rachael Howington and I am your school counselor! I'll be working with you throughout the next four years so I thought I'd introduce myself and provide a brief overview of what my role is. As a school counselor I help students with academic planning which includes; scheduling, forecasting, 4year planning, credit accrual and graduation tracking. I also help students with day-to-day social/emotional needs/concerns/struggles along with helping students advocate for success in high school, which can look different for every student. I can help connect students/families with resources and support for varying needs. Here's a little bit about me in general, I've been working at River for the last 10 years and absolutely love my job! I'm very passionate about connecting with students and helping them create their pathway for their future! When I'm not working, I love to be outdoors hiking trails, exploring nature, traveling, playing volleyball and hanging out with my 11 year old dog who keeps me young I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

I look forward to working with all of you these next four years and hope your high school experience is truly memorable!
